- Fabijoniškės brutalsium -
VILANUS
This photographic series explores the brutalist architecture of Fabijoniškės, a residential district in Vilnius, Lithuania, developed primarily during the late Soviet era. Built in the 1980s, the neighbourhood reflects the principles of Soviet modernism, where large-scale prefabricated concrete apartment blocks were designed to provide practical, affordable housing for a rapidly growing urban population. Characterised by geometric forms, exposed concrete, and repetitive façades, the architecture prioritised function over ornament while creating a distinct visual identity.
